Professor Alan Boyd awarded FPM President’s Medal

A huge congratulations to our CEO and Founder, Professor Alan Boyd, on being awarded the President’s Medal by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine.

Yesterday, at the FPM Annual Awards Ceremony 2022, Alan was awarded the FPM President’s Medal, the highest honour FPM can bestow. The award recognises exceptional individuals who have gone above and beyond to deliver fundamental and transformational change to the field of pharmaceutical medicine.

Alan has been associated with the FPM since its inception in 1989. As well as dedicating his career to the development of medicinal products, including new treatment approaches such as gene therapy, Alan has always had a strong interest in the education and training of future pharmaceutical physicians. This interest allowed him to participate and lead the various committees within the FPM devoted to education and training and to shape the specialty that the Faculty has to offer. Through BaxterBoyd and subsequently the Boyds Training group, Alan has supported and guided well over 300 trainees to acquire the knowledge needed to take and pass the Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine examination.
