We are delighted to announce the appointment of experienced clinical researcher Caroline Corbett as Director of Clinical Operations to support the team’s continued growth and the rising demand for its specialist clinical trial expertise.

As Director of Clinical Operations at Boyds, Caroline will support Dr Karen O’Hanlon, Vice President of Clinical Operations, with the ongoing growth and development of the clinical operations team and service offering.

Based at Boyds’ Cambridge office, Caroline will focus on the delivery of study start-up activities, including site selection and reviewing clinical trial protocols.

With more than 15 years’ experience in Phase I to Phase IV clinical trials including medical devices, Caroline joins Boyds from IQVIA where she was the early clinical development portfolio oversight lead for two key partnerships, overseeing the delivery of more than ten clinical studies and managing a 16-strong global team. Caroline spent ten years at IQVIA in various roles from project manager to associate director. Prior to this, she was a clinical research associate for the NHS as well as Gregory Fryer Associates.

A specialist in the management of early phase studies, Caroline’s experience spans a variety of therapeutic areas including COVID-19, biosimilars, gene therapy, oncology, HIV, Parkinson’s, Migraine and Multiple Sclerosis, as well as healthy volunteer studies and first-in human (FIH) compounds.

Of her appointment, Caroline says: “I am excited to be returning to a specialist company where you can truly be at the forefront of science whilst closely collaborating with all team members involved in the delivery of a study. I hope to use my extensive experience in global programme and project management and first-hand monitoring to support both the clinical operations team and our clients as we aim to help bring more medicines to the market.”

Dr Karen O’Hanlon comments: “We are delighted to be further expanding our clinical operations team. We have seen an increased demand for our study start up expertise, and Caroline’s appointment marks an exciting point in the team’s growth. Caroline is a highly experienced and capable clinical trial specialist with a strong track record of managing efficient, high-performing teams. The Clinical Operations team plays a key role in helping us support more clients translate their innovations into medicinal products for the benefit of patients around the world.”
